About Rep. Greg Cheney

Rep. Greg Cheney is serving his first term representing Southwest Washington’s 18th Legislative District.

Greg was raised in Clark County and is a longtime resident of Battle Ground. He is an attorney focused on helping small to medium-sized businesses and providing indigent representation to low-income Washingtonians in need of legal support. He is also a small business owner.

As a member of the Legislature, Greg is focused on:

  • Keeping taxes low and cutting government waste.
  • Fighting against misguided legislation that prioritizes criminals over victims.
  • Eliminating regulations that hurt small businesses and negatively impact job growth.
  • Addressing the housing availability and affordability crisis.
  • Increasing funding for, and improving the delivery of, mental health services.

The 18th District lawmaker is currently serving as the assistant Republican whip and serves on four standing House committees. He is the ranking member on the House State Government & Tribal Relations Committee, and serves on the Capital Budget, Civil Rights & Judiciary, and Regulated Substances & Gaming committees.

Cheney is also a member of several statutory committees, including: the Civil Legal Aid Oversight Committee; the Interbranch Advisory Committee; the Joint Task Force on Jail Standards, and; the Statute Law Committee.

Greg and his wife Mari have two young children.
